Halloween Village

It’s no wonder that Halloween is one of the favorite holidays of people, no matter what their age! It lets us give free rein to our fantasies and allows our inner child to play with total abandon!

I’ve always loved collecting Halloween Village pieces; I put up miniature displays in little spots all over my house! It doesn’t take much space to tuck in a couple of small buildings, maybe a tiny cemetery and a handful of zombies – you just never know what you might find!

I hope that you have as much fun as I do collecting these tiny ghouls and goblins!!

History of Halloween

I just adore Halloween; I guess you could call me a big kid. It’s the one night of the year when I get to dress up and pretend to be somebody else. Kids go from house to house getting lots of treats and candy that they normally don’t get to eat. People tell grizzly stories about the living dead. It’s a night of fun and pranks.

A Celtic festival named Samhain was the start of Halloween; it marked the end of summer. It’s also the traditional day of harvest celebrations, as well as marking the Celtic New Year. The Celtics have the belief that the boundary that exists between the living and dead is lowered, and the dead can once again become living on October 31st.

When the dead returned to life they often played dirty tricks on the crops. They’ve caused illness to the living and ruined crops in entire areas. Living in fear of this happening, people would hold a bonfire and offer gifts and offerings to the spirits in the fire. These offerings would please the spirits, who would then help the Druids to make predictions about the future. People looked forward to a good prediction to help them get through the long winter months with a sense of comfort.

The name Halloween originated from All Hallows Eve, a Christian celebration. All Hallows Day is celebrated on November 1st, so of course Halloween is celebrated on October 31st. Many families today enjoy collecting small buildings and creating a diorama representing a Halloween Village. This village can grow over the years to include new buildings.

In your Halloween Village you might want to add in some tiny ghouls. There’s quite a wide assortment of zombies, vampires, even tiny ghost ships. You can even find a little ghost train to ride around the village. Go ahead and get creative and put whatever you’d like in your Halloween Village.

There may even be a Halloween village with your favorite cartoons as characters. You would set up the familiar village that they live in. and turn it into a dark and spooky place instead. You can look for these kind of collectibles if you want.

There are all kinds of websites today that have Halloween Village collectibles that you can add to your collection, or even start one. These websites usually have some unique figurines at very reasonable prices – just take a look around this website!!

Halloween is such a fun holiday that brings a lot of joy to people. Halloween is celebrated all over the world, and becoming more popular every year. There are parties, and so many fun pranks. It’s always a good time seeing the kids all dressed up, gathering their treats from houses all decorated for the holiday. That’s a real life Halloween Village!
